Deep Cleaning: How Often Do I Need It?
Standard cleaning maintenance won’t be enough to maintain your business’s cleanliness and hygiene. You should have regular deep cleaning scheduled throughout the year to ensure you keep those areas that can accumulate dust and debris over time. When you have high-traffic areas, hard to reach spaces, areas underneath large pieces of furniture and appliances, hard to reach high ceiling corners these areas - all these areas will build up dust and debris over time.
How Often Should You Deep Clean?
This depends on various factors including the number of employees or clients your business has, the size of your office, what type of business you have etc. In general, once or twice per year is ideal for a complete cleaning, restoration, and disinfection.
However, you will also need to give consideration to the individual nuances of your business that may require different levels of cleaning.
For example, while we highly recommend having your office floors deep cleaned every quarter, you should factor in how high-traffic an area is and what type of flooring you have. Some floorings and carpets see more usage daily or some materials may be more high-maintenance than others. We can help you determine what would be the most optimal maintenance and deep clean schedule based on what you have at your business.
Here are some other tips to consider:
Upholstery
If you have upholstery in your office chairs, sofas, and other furniture, we recommend you have them cleaned at least twice or 3 times per year or as needed. This is because the fabrics can trap a lot of dirt and other debris, making them a breeding ground for bacteria.
Office Kitchen & Appliances
In a communal office kitchen, an ongoing deep cleaning (monthly or every other month) is recommended. Because this is a highly used space where people with varying hygiene habits frequent with food, it’s also an area that can breed bacteria and an important area to deep clean on a regular basis.
Washrooms
In any establishment, the washrooms need regular cleanings to keep them sanitized. The frequency will ultimately depend on foot traffic. A more thorough cleaning at the end of every week to scrub and disinfect the toilets, sinks, a thorough mopping and disinfection of floors can prevent the buildup of grime.
